control causes blue screen
Hi, I've just done a clean install of Vista Home Premium after install
Windows installed a Realtek AC97 audio driver for the Abit KV7 mainboard but the sound did'nt work so I got a driver from Abit website which appears to be the correct one and works ok but I now find that when I click Start/ Control Panel the PC crashes to a Blue Screen and reboots.Using System Restore cures the control panel problem but leaves me with no sound, I have not made any other changes. Am I stuck with no sound until Abit write a Vista comptable driver for the KV7. |

Yep! A possible workaround is to install a soundcard, if you have a slot
available. Make sure drivers are available before upgrading any machine. "Baz100" wrote in message ... Thank You Wandering, Ive now got a driver that works, Microsoft downloaded it
presumably in response to all the Find a Solution Online requests I was sending when the PC crashed. "Wandering" wrote: Yep!
