I had a similar problem a few months back, and it was the ribbon cable.

cd/dvd drive not recognized
Hey Cal Bear 66 loyal Jets fan here so I was glad to see Pats loose it.
Anyway thanks for all your advice but as usual with some of these computer problems the drive was actually loosened and all I gad to do was push it back in harder. LOL I wish these things were more idiot proof. Thanks Again Jamie "Cal Bear '66" wrote: Is the CD ROM driver recognized in the system BIOS? I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS! Glad you solved your problem.
I live in NYC and I guess I'm glad the Giants won. (Cal Bears are the Golden Bears of the University of California, Berkeley, not the Chicago Bears.) I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS!
