Every time I try to watch any kind of video (DVD, AVI, MPG) in either VLC or
Media Player Classic, Aero unloads and the basic theme loads. It switches
back after stopping the media, but it is getting rather annoying. Why can
WMP 11 play these video files without a hitch but VLC and MPC cause Vista to
drop Aero?

MPC works perfectly fine in Glass for me in RC1.

Maybe VLC uses java? If so;this is why.

NOTICE: It seems that most, if not all, Java-based Windows applications
disable Aero Glass. This is only temporary and the effects are restored when
the program is closed. This issue has been fixed in the latest builds of
Java 6

Try installing Java 6; ya gotta make sure ya uninstall any older Java first.

Get Java 6 here.

Ya need the JRE one.

Unfortunately it's not a Java app (though Java 6 does work with Vista Aero
if anyone needs it.) Check out the following link for more information on
