Default unable to run video files in media center or install pinnacle 8

i was attepting to view video from the online channels and the program tells
me that there are files and applications missing from media center disalowing
me to view any of the channels. i attempted to install pinnacle 8 and at
first it said i could not install it without administrator permission.

i was on the administrator account as its the only one on this system. i
could not log into the account as "Administrator". i attemped to sign in as
administrator in safe mode and it would not accept my password or a default
administrator password.

I edited the administrator account on the normal login to remove the
security block on instalations and attempted to install again and it said the
program was not designed to work with my OS. i attempted to install it again
using the windows XP compatablility emulater and it would not see the file in
the drive i was using. after browsing to the file it still would not run it.
if i attempted to run the instalation program manualy i get an error message
and it crashes.

is the RC1 ultimate instalation supposed to include all the files to view
video in media center and does it have the files to download video from a
camcorder and edit them on the stsyem. if so its not working.

my system is a toshiba satelite laptop 5205-s503 upgraded from a clean
instalation of windows xp home that came with the system. the video card is
an nvideo GForce 440 go with 32 meg ram. system memory 512 meg ram. video
into the system should be the dazzle usb video plugin peripheral or firewire
direct from a digital video camera.

i'm trying to find out the capabilitys for running and editing video on RC1
and capturing video from 3d MMORPG games using a screen capture program and
editing them for display on HDTV and NTSV tv systems and dvd's.
