what is Remote Differential Compression

Hi AJB, Remote Differential Compression measures the changes in files over a network to transfer them with minimal bandwidth rather than transferring an entire file that has previously been moved. By constantly checking for file changes, this service can hinder system performance. You can see step 11 here for more on this: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/81...nce-vista.html Hope this helps, Shawn -- Brink *There are no dumb questions, just the people that do not ask them.* '*Vista Forums*' (http://www.vistax64.com/index.php?referrerid=2980) *Please post feedback to help others.* |
