HP USB Printer not detected
I have an HP Photosmart 1218 USB printer which Vista RTM doesn't see. Does
Vista include a driver for this printer? I can find nothing on www.hp.com of any relevance. When I disconnect and reconnect the USB cable I get a 'bing-bong' from the speakers but nothing else. No dialog box or any sign that Vista can see a new device. All was working fine on XP. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks Michael |

HP USB Printer not detected
Just bumping this because: I am having the exact same problem with a HP Deskjet 5550 USB printer. I'm using Vista Home Premium Edition 32bit. I hear the "bing-bong" when I plug it in and unplug it (so the computer seems to know that something is going on). But after that nothing. -- Zootsax |
