Bitlocker doesn't work in this build.
Thanks John for helping Michael with this
The UI was simplified based on feedback. First there were so many options it was confusing, and second, there is a lot of hardware that does not have a TPM, that the USB key does not work either. = Lots of gnashing of teeth. BTW, manage-bde is a great tool for the BitLocker power user. - Jamie Hunter [MS] --- "John Barnett MVP" wrote in message ... Don't worry about it Michael, I too wasn't best pleased when i first noticed that bitlocker wasn't available. -- John Barnett MVP Associate Expert http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org The information in this mail is supplied "as is". "MICHAEL" wrote in message ... My apologies for jumping to conclusions and running off at the mouth. My problems with MSN music and DRM have me really bent out of shape. Thank you, John. -Michael "John Barnett MVP" wrote in message ... Michael it has been disabled. To re-enable it do the following: 1/ Start - Run - gpedit.msc 2/ Computer Configuration 3/ Administrative Templates 4/ Windows Components 5/ BitLocker Drive Encryption 6/ Control Panel Setup:Enable advanced startup options -- John Barnett MVP Associate Expert http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org The information in this mail is supplied "as is". "MICHAEL" wrote in message ... In Beta 2, you could use Bitlocker to encrypt your Vista volume even if you did not have "TPM". That is no longer an option. Pathetic, but expected. I just knew Microsoft was going to mess that up. -Michael |
