Default media center questions..help wanted!

I have recently set up my vista media center pc and I have set up 2
xbox360's as media extenders. What I would like to do is make home
movies (no editing) and drag and drop thes video files to Vista pc and
then be able to watch the video on my media extenders. I am going to
buy a new video camera, a hd model with a hard drive. My question is
can I do this without converting the video to another format? Does
anyone make a camcorder that records in a format that is supported by
media center or does anyone make a plugin for media center that will
allow AVCHD playback? Which format is used to record standard def.
video as opposed to high def. ? Any help would be greatly appericated

Have u had success with this? I just bought Sony HDR-SR11. Love the camera,
but about to pull my hair out over AVCHD/H.264 Codec issues. If I shoot SD
with the SR11 it creates .mpg I can view fine over Vista Media Center to
XB360. The HD .m2ts files on the other hand are an issue. Media Player
Classic (strongly recommended -
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...er_Classic.htm) will play them,
and finally got playing in WMP 11 after installing Haali media splitter and
newer ffdshow. Still have to rename to .mpg (they are actually MPEG-4
files). However, Media Center errors out - won't play it even though WMP
does. I need to figure out some way to play the HD video through Media
Center until Blu-Ray burners come down in price.

Is this on a 32bit or 64bit system?

32bit. Also, the HD .m2ts files will play (after renaming to .mpg) via Media
Center *on the PC * but not through Xbox. Is something needed on Xbox to
support?

I don't believe Xbox supports M2TS at this time. The Xbox teams might know
that kind of thing. =\
