Well, for some very odd and quite frankly stupid reason, Vista will not
install the drivers for my sony dcr trv255e camera (...why allow the drivers
to run on XP, then disallow them on Vista, itn't that a step backwards?)
Anyway...does anyone know how to get around this, or know of any drivers
(perhaps for a newer sony cam) that might work? 'cos im pretty desperate to
get my final film finished.

Also...suggestion for any Microsoft people reading this...dont do silly
things like this. Please. Vista's a pain in the butt enough as it is, without
adding the fact that i now cant use some of my peripherals and input devices.

It's up to Sony to produce a driver for their products.
Looking at
http://support.sony-europe.com/dime/...&m=DCR-TRV255E
it appears that Vista (32 bit) contains the USB driver for that camera. You
shouldn't try to install the driver that came with the camera.

Nope...vista repeatedly tells me that it cannot find the driver, and would i
like to install form a CD...then the next thing i get is: no, vista cannot
open/install that driver because its not compatable. Thanks for trying to
help anyway....im on the verge of reformatting and trying to find my old copy
of XP _
