Default Outlook Message Icon on Vista

This concerns the saving of Outlook Messages Items on the hardisk by Vista.
It does so and I can open the files. What I don't understand is this: for
some reason, Vista just recently cannot recognize the "letter symbol icon" of
such files. It sees instead a generic icon. And that goes for all Outlook
item files. It,s not a big problem but does anyone know why this is happening
or how to fix this? Until not too long ago, these files had the right icon to
represent them. All other symbols & icons seem to be ok. Thank you for your
help!

Do you mean you are dragging msgs from Outlook to an outside folder in eg
Documents, and then the icon is generic in explorer or what?

Whether I drag them to a file or save them into a file, the result is the
same: a generic icon appears for .msg Outlook messages instead of the letter
symbol normally seen. Tx.--Pedro
