Vista activation problems
Well, I bought windows vista home premium sp1 last week. Yesterday it
crashed and I had to reinstall it from the disc. When I originally installed it, plugged in the Product Key to get it activiated. Now, since I had to reinstall it, the activation code is no longer valid. I phoned Microsoft and was transferred to four different representatives, three from India and I must say, they were very courteous. However, they couldnt't resolve my problem. The last person put me on hold and my cordless phone's battery was starting to run so slow that I hung up. A few minutes later, he called me back to see why we were disconnected and he apologized. Anyway, someone is going to call me within 24 hours, I hope!!!!! Any suggestions!!!!!! |

Vista activation problems
You should be able to get them to activate it by phone. What happens is that
your previous activation is showing up, and it looks like a second install to the Microsoft servers. So, it declines the automatic activation. I am not sure why Microsoft employees are taking so much time and effort. It's a simple process that usually only takes about 5 minutes. I'd give them a call back and see if they can get you activated. That's actually very out of the ordinary that it would take so long. -- Dustin Harper http://www.vistarip.com | Vista Resource & Information Page Was this helpful? Then click the Ratings button. Vista activation problems
I just received a call from tech support and they reset my product
activation. The agent was very helpful. However, I think that my next computer will be an Apple. Although I like Vista, it shouldn't be crashing on me. I shouldn't have to call tech support either.
