Media Player 11: Add file(s) / Tagging Questions
Hi all, Since my iPod broke i wanted to get rid of iTunes and currently i'm experimenting with Media Player (since i prefer builtin solutions..). But there are a few things that bug me and i can't find anything about how to "fix" them. Maybe one of you can help me. First: Is it possible to add just one file to the media library and have Media Player automatically rename it? I love folderwatch.. but it would be great if i drag a file into it and media player takes care of the folder structure on it's own. iTunes could that, and i know that MP11 does it if i rip a cd. But isn't it possible to just add some files and MP11 renames them according to the tags? Also, isn't it possible that he automatically changes the file location if i edit the file tags in the library ? Second: If i change the music file tags, media player doesn't seem to change the actual ID3 Tags. That's really annoying as i want also stay "compactible" to other players if i want to change my library software in the future. Having to retag all files just because media player isn't saving Meta information as ID3 tags but his own (?) format is more than annoying. Is there anything i can do about it ? Hope you can answer my questions. Thanks for reading, Alex -- lx-s |

Media Player 11: Add file(s) / Tagging Questions
Since no one can help me (asked here and in the media player newsgroup), i figure it just isn't possible yet (except by programming a plugin, but I don't have the time to do it and i'm lazy... well, it's mostly the lazy thing). Well then... anyone knows reasonable alternatives to iTunes? -- lx-s |
