Default Creating a Striped Volume in Vista 64-bit

Hello, I just wondered if there is any chance I could get some
help/advice on how to create a Striped volume in Windows Vista Home
Premium 64-bit, everytime I try using Disk Management Console, it tells
me: Dynamic Disks are not supported by this operating system.

Ideas???

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

I don't know if there is a way to get it to work through vista alone. My
Raids use Raid managers on the planar. Can you give specifics on your
system? If you have a 64-bit system, I am willing to bet you have a Raid
manager on your mobo.

Hi,

Either do it via system hardware (meaning you'll need to reinstall and load
a compatible raid driver), or upgrade to a version of Vista that supports
dynamic disks (Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate). Home Premium would have
to upgrade to Ultimate.

Yes I have a RAID manager on my motherboard, BUT, it wont let me stripe
more than 4 drives. I want 2x 750GB Operating System, and 2x 1TB (2TB)
for Storage.

It only allows me to create ONE Striped volume for some reason.

Help?

Then fit a raid card that supports them, presumably you're aware raid stripe
has no redundency, and you worked out your backup strategy

Again this depends on your mobo. Your planar sounds a bit limited for
what you want to do. As DL suggested:geek:, you will have to go to a
plug-in card for another controller. Or you might consider shopping for
a new mobo. Might be worth the effort and less frustrating for other
endeavors, e.g., are you happy with the amount and speeds of memory
currently supported? Number, speed and location of USB or 1394 ports?
What speed restrictions, if any, will a plug-in have over a bus-wired
driver?

Sorry for the unhappy answer:cry:, but then it sounds like you knew the
answer all along.
