Where are and how do I save Contacts and Favorites
Preparing to format c and d and then reinstall Vista because of some major
problems. Have a big terabyte G drive and a DVD drive to save valuable files to. But I can't see a simple way to save/export the contacts other than .csv file. nor can I find the file(s) that contain my wife's 'Favorites' So that I can re-import after a clean install. please and thank you. |

Where are and how do I save Contacts and Favorites
Hello FireBrick, You can manually copy the files to DVD (or something) to back them up, them manually copy them back in the same folder after reinstalling Vista. They are located at these locations in Vista: Favorites: C:\Users\(user name)\Favorites Contacts: C:\Users\(user name)\Contacts Hope this helps, Shawn FireBrick;937685 Wrote: Preparing to format c and d and then reinstall Vista because of some major problems. Favourites would be under your user profile's folder.
For example c:\users\%username%\Favourites where %username% is the user's actual username/profile folder. Do you mean "Contacts" as in your Email address book? The contacts, mail messages and account settings would be exported through the particular mail program you use - yes it would probably export as a CSV file (other formats are available), but it's easily imported again through the email program being used. Once windows is reinstalled you will need to recreate the user accounts (I think) and then restore the favorites folder etc from there. "FireBrick" wrote in message ...
