Windows Backup
Um, because that would be the objective of a complete backup program?

Windows Backup
I think the original post was to do with Windows ordinary backup and not the
complete backup (which is not supposed to be available on Vista Home Premium). This is something that I have noticed on my own computer running Home Premium. Not only are the data files which I have selected backed up but also Program Files and Application Data and everything else is - thus making the backup much larger than it needs to be. |

Windows Backup
Hi,
So choose the option to just backup files, select which file types you want, and not do the whole computer. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Mr. Jon Pope" wrote in message ... Just a thought, the size of the drive might be 90Gb but if there is only 39.2Gb of data on it then only that will be backedup. Also, I suspect that the data is compressed, so the size will never be the same. Simon |
