I once read a post about a boot menu reappearing on every boot.
Did a seach on google and found as the 10th result the post I needed (i recognised the text in the preview shown). Search on google 'site:www.microsoft.com boot menu' Found: http://www.microsoft.com/communities...&cr=&sloc=&p=1 But......that thread no longer exists. Also I cannot find that post again. Can anyone help? With this post result? With a boot menu reappearing? |

Michel--
Your link no workee. Boot menu appears *every restart or boot* if you double or multiboot a Windows box with more than one OS on the HD. CH "Michel" wrote in message ... Michel--
I tried to give you helpful info. You can find newsgroup posts from MSFT groups many ways, but one easy one is to use Google Groups. Once you have a boot menu, it appears on every boot unless you modify it. A good example is a dual or multiboot. Perhaps you're referring to using the F8 key to the Win Advanced Options Menu. I have no idea what you mean but gave it my best shot. Good luck, CH "Michel" wrote in message ... I once read a post about a boot menu reappearing on every boot. Hehe, yes, it *is* goofy info I guess.
Point is, I posted the problem of the boot menu reappearing many months ago and I was just wondering if any good solutions have come up in the meanwhile. I tried searching for my old post via google, msn, live seach, ms community search but all came up empty handed. Anyways, I am still curious as to if a solution has been found. Back then, I fixed it by adding two identical boot menu entries, both pointing to the same Vista installation. This fix made the machine auto boot into Vista again so the user didn't have to hit the enter key on each boot. I have not seen anyone with this exact same problem. That is, when using it on a simple (?) single Vista install (aka. non dual boot installation). I hope I clarified things a little. |
