How to reset default associations in Vista
I am running Vista Ultimate, with Office 2007. I was happily using
Office Picture Manager to view my jpeg images until I let picassa 3.0 from Google grab the file associations that it wanted. Now, I want to set them back, but when I go to the default associations manager, it does not list the Office Picture Manager, just the Windows Picture Manager. How do I get it to find and present the Office Picture Manager and allow then grab all the defaults back? I was able to give jpeg to the Office Picture Manager, and I could do that for the other defaults that it might use, but I do not know all the file types it wants. -- Hollis Paul Mukilteo, WA USA |

In the window that opens you will likely see "Office Picture Manager" listed select it , make sure always use this program is selected. You might even be able to unselect JPGs in picassa "preferences. Hope this helps you. -- dbknox |

There is also a statement in the help file for Office Picture Manager to go to the tools menu, choose file defaults and go from there. However, there is nothing on my Tools Menu in OFM. Bummer. -- Hollis Paul Mukilteo, WA USA |
