Default Keyboard keys remapped arbitrarily - NOT a NUM Lock issue

Hi there Forum,

I have a fairly new Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li3910 Laptop and have been
experiencing a strange, and extremely frustrating, keyboard issue for
several days now. I have browsed through loads of forums, but to no
avail. Well, maybe some of you may be able to help

My keyboard seems to have been strangely remapped for some reason -
some keys have been "added up" with one another, the "d" causes the
cursor to jump into the URL line of the browser, while others won't work
in "SHIFT +" mode.

Here's a little, non-exhaustive list of what's wrong, indicating what
happens if the respective key is pressed:

- "h" -- "8h"
- "g" -- "6g"
- ";" -- "9;"
- "9" -- "9;"
- "d" -- "d", but cursor jumps into URL line of browser if in IE
- "5" on NUM pad -- 85
- "8" on NUM pad -- 85
- "8" on keyboard -- 8h
- "6" on keyboard -- 6g
- keys that will not react if SHIFT is pressed: M, S, D, G, H, ;, ',
\, 6, 8, 9
- "END" button: functions like "UP" arrow
- "INSERT" button: # (but functions in any case)
The list goes on, and I'm pretty sure this issue has a few more suprises
in store for me.

While I have no idea where this problem might be coming from (a virus
perhaps?), the only solution I could think of would be a keyboard
remapper, though I have no idea whether this could work at all.

Any ideas what this could be or what I could do in order to get this
resolved??

Any help is much appreciated!!!
