Default How to enable a disabled device

I have an HP laptop running Vista Home Premium. I wanted to temporarily disable the microphone and I checked "do not use this device" in the microphone properties. Now I no longer have a microphone and can no longer find it in the list of devices. When I try to add hardware I'm asked to insert a CD. My computer didn't come with a CD, but it does have the restore partition/drive. How can I get my microphone back? I hope this is enough information and would appreciate any help you can give me.

Right-click on that Recording tab (where you disabled it) and choose 'Show

Thank you very, very much. That did it. I really appreciate your help. I
also learned something for future use. Thanks again.
