I have win 7 home premium 64 bit. Just got the laptop and all of a sudden

resolution. I asked this on a win 7 group but they aren't too quick to
answer on there.

This is a Usenet newsgroup, not a web forum or a chat room. Two things
you should know:

1) Expecting a response in anything less than 24 hours is utterly
unrealistic; any responses received within 24 hours can be considered
"immediate." To demand more immediate attention is just plain rude.

2) Deliberately posting an off-topic question (like yours; a Windows 7
question in a Vista newsgroup) in an inappropriate newsgroup is
considered near the very height of rudeness, almost as bad in posting in
all CAPS (in other words, shouting).

I did try to install corel paintshop X2 but it wouldn't install right so I
uninstalled what files it did install. That is when I noticed the problem
with the dllhost. I need a fix here.

As this is a new computer, and therefore under warranty, is there any
particular reason you haven't contacted the manufacturer to obtain
warranty support? It would seem clear that the factory-installed OS is
corrupt/damaged.

Did that and it didn't work because I removed all points and started new
ones and adjusting what percentage to use.

Do a system restore to before you tried to install PSP X2.

Have you tried a system restore to a time before the Corel install?

As I stated above I had removed all points and make new ones and lowered the
percentage of how much system restore was to use, so the new points didn't
help

Debbie,
What was the result of doing a system restore to before the corel
install?

Best answered in the W7 forums. You need to wait for an answer. Sometimes answers
only come in a day or two or it come in a few minutes or hrs.
Repost there for a proper answer and wait. Or better still check on your post there
now

Do a system restore to before you tried to install PSP X2.

Then boot your Vista DVD and select repair.

I fixed it, I went back and checked what services I had on auto and manual,
I check Viper's site, well after I started some services that weren't
started I was able to get everything opened right
