Default Vista Updates

I've just had a look at the "update history" section in Vista, and there are
numerous updates with a status of "Failed". Can anyone advise on why they
have failed, when others have gone in, and also what I can do to correct the
situation?

Many TIA

Duncs

There are several reasons why they could fail to start or complete.
In order to update, review the history and 'troubleshoot', if necessary.
Otherwise simply repeat, making sure of a working internet connection.

Harry.

I've tried re-running the update, but they still show as "Failed".

The updates, or at least some of them, a

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465)
Update for Windows Live Sign-In Assistant (KB967912)
Update for Windows Vista (KB968389)
Security Update for Windows Vista (KB973540)
Cumulative Update for Media Centre for Windows Vista (KB974306)

and others. In total, there are 43 updates that have failed to install, 90%
of them listed as "Important".

Did you try to 'Troubleshoot' or 'Google Search'?
Something is missing in your update process.

Harry.
