Just because it's on the HCL doesn't mean it will work. Case in point...I
have a Gigabyte motherboard with a Realtek 8169 (Gigabit Ehternet) LAN chip on it. It's on the HCL, but it doesn't work. It installs, but Windows device manager indicates that it has a problem. Trust me, I've done everything possible. I even downloaded the driver from Realtek's website, reinstalled, uninstalled, and reinstalled (repeatedly), to no avail. The driver is a Windows Vista driver, but does not work. People should be really careful, less they get stuck with no access to the Internet, like me (well, via that computer anyway). No Internet connection means no way to try another driver. -Zan "dirty old man" wrote: Try the Vista hardware compatibility list at: https://winqual.microsoft.com/HCL/Default.aspx "wlwallick" wrote in message ... | What NICs will work with Vista? | | My Netgear FA311 won't.
