Default Vista's Contacts not working

Hi,

I tried using a tweak to move my "user files" folder's to "my documents"
folder left from the XP OS which was on another partition on my hard drive,
it didn't work well so I reversed everything.
Now every time I click on "contacts", the "my documents" folder opens up
which now shows as a shortcut in my Vista's "user files".
My Contacts folder (which is empty) is still in the "user files" folder.
However, I cannot open Contacts by a shortcut or within the Windows mail.

I checked the Contacts shortcut in the Start Menu and it points to
""%Program Files%\Windows Mail\wab.exe", so it seems that wab.exe is messed
up.

Is there a registry tweak or a similar trick to correct this?

Thanks,

Bijan

Hello Bijan,

Using OPTION THREE in the tutorial below, you can restore the default
location of the "Contacts" folder to hopefully fix this for you.

'Personal User Folder - Restore Missing Folder'

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Default Vista's Contacts not working

No need to mess with the registry.
Navigate to C:\Users\username\ and right-click on the Contacts
folder, then Properties, Location. Fix the displayed location.

Default Vista's Contacts not working

Thanks Gary,

On the Location tab for contacts there wasn't a Location tab, because for
some reason "My Documents" folder had become my Contacts folder! so I did
what you said on the Location tab of My Documents folder (which was pointing
to the actual location of the folder on another partition).

This corrected the location and copied the folder into the User's Files, but
still My Documents folder had the contacts' info and my Contacts folder was
just a regular folder!

So I took a chance and deleted the My Documents folder in the User's file
(the original on the other partition was intact). At first both My Documents
folder and Contacts folder disappeared and nothing happened when I clicked
the Contacts shortcut; however, after a reboot, Contacts was back and
everything works fine ;-)

What a weird annoyance!

Thanks for your help,

Bijan
