need help with reinstallation
Hi all I am trying to reinstall vista on a acer aspire laptop. The machine has been badly infected with an unknown virus/ infection. The virus doesn't scan I think that i might need to flash my bios. I can't change the bios setting to boot to cd. In other words i can't change anything in my bios at all it won't let me arrow down of the item on the top line. I think it is the virus because the behaviour is the same. when i try to load the os on the machine it does the ramdisk thing beep the whole way. Then places something on the screen then starts again. the machines keyboard doesn't work so i am using a psp keyboard with no problems there. So it is panic beeping while it is trying to install the os. i have wiped the hard drive with a partition disk. so there isn't any operating system. I have downloaded the bios off acer website but i am a little unsure how to prepare the disk to make it bootable. thanks for your help -- vicvic1 |
