Default Why can't I change resolution to 1280 x 1024?

That is because the scan converter chip on your graphics card can not create an image of a desktop resolution higher then 1024x768 to S-Video Out which is 480i.

for a side issue, my ati can control 2 displays, one being svideo out.
if I DO NOT TURN OFF the 2nd video "svideo" I cannot set resolution beyond 1024X768.
disabling the 2nd video "svideo" am able to get to 1280X1024.
if your card can handle 2 displays you might check that out.

I have tried reducing the refresh rate and that didn't help either.

I using a geforce 7600 with the latest drivers installed but for some reason
I can't change my resolution to 1280 x 1024. The highest it will go is 1024
x 768. I had it at 1280 x 1024 in XP but now I can't set it at that. Does
anyone know how to fix this problem?
