Default Can't find the right driver, standard driver

Hi all,

I have a new selfbuild computer with a DVDR from Sony NEC Optiarc (AD5170A)
and the drive works fine form scratch, even booting and installing VISTA Home
premium with it. After 4 weeks I got an error, nothing was readable in the
drive anymore. Looking at the Properties from the DVDR i see:
"Kan het apparaatstuurprogramma voor dit apparaat niet in het geheugen
laden. Mogelijk is het stuurprogramma beschadigd of het ontbreekt. (Code 39)"
Searching for new drivers gives the same result: All the right drivers are
in place and up te date.
I did change the DVDR to a TSSTcorp SH-S182M Device and got the same error.

Driver info:
c:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys
version:
6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205

What is going wrong and how do i fix this in Vista?

Kind regards

Kees

See these MS-KB's. It describes the reason and offers the fix. Includes your
Code 39 issue
