When I try to play a video file wmp gives the error: problem occured, wmp
will shut down and keep you updated when solution has been found for this
issue.
No error code number for this issue. What could be the problem? Have no
problems with playing music files, only video files incl. DVD's.

What data is in the Problem Reports and Solutions control panel for that
crash? That data may contain enough data to move forward with:

Speaking for myself only.
