changing photo formats

Photos imported into Vista from a camera seem to be stored in jpeg format. How do I change the format to tif? ============================= If you want TIFF files...there may be a setting you can change in your camera. Be aware that file sizes will be much larger than .jpg. For the current files...open them in an editing program and go to...File / Save As / TIFF. FWIW...this will not improve the files but if you plan to perform many edits... at least you will have the lossless format. IrfanView may be useful to you as it can do a batch reformat. Download IrfanView http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967 (get the plug-ins too) http://www.tucows.com/preview/415586 For instructions...open the IrfanView Help files and search for Batch Conversion. -- John Inzer MS Picture It! - Digital Image MVP Digital Image Highlights and FAQs http://tinyurl.com/aczzp Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |

changing photo formats
Adrian,
Thanks for posting your question. You can change the format which your camera uses to store its pictures. Mst cameras have TIFF and sometimes raw formats available (though both of those file formats will take more space than JPEG). If you want to covert files already on your computer, Windows Vista can help you do that. YOu can use Paint to "Save As" your pictures in a different format.
