CD Drive Wont Read Any Discs
When you said "play", are you referring to music CDs? If so, do you have the
same results from a data CD? If so, I would suspect the CD drive is defective and needs to be replaced. I'm not following the sentence about Control Panel. Too many pronouns. When you said "...it opens it..." do you mean it opens the Control Panel or a window to view the contents of the CD? If it's trying to open a window to view the contents of the CD, it's probably related to a bad CD drive. Tim "Ross" wrote in message ... CD Drive Wont Read Any Discs
Hi, I've had same problem in brand new Dell Studio 1737. I was listening cd and the drive somehow started searching same sector on disc. I forced machine to shut down and after restart it could not read anything. I called Dell. To solve the problem they wanted me to update BIOS, but it did not halped. It is very likely that drive is dead. -- akarame |
