Sorry, not familiar with Sigma Tel. I have Creative which does have a Tone tab
in Control Panel Playback Devices Speakers Properties. Realtek does not have a Tone tab. It must depend on the drivers supplied by your audio adapter manufacturer. Vista SHOULD have standard tone controls -- I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS! Under playback devices-speakers there is an enhancement to add bass. Try turning it off.
