So i installed illustrator, and when i go and run it it says, "you are not
allowed to continuebecause your account does not have the proper privileges. Please log in using an account with administrator privileges and try again". So i go to user accounts and it says under my account: administrator. So i try it again, and it does the same thing. So i boot it up using safe mode and try logging under administrator, and it says access denied. I dont know what to do, can anyone help |

Hello,
In Windows Vista, even though your account is an administrator, programs you open are only given 'normal user' access to your computer, unless they request your permission or you explicitly give them permission. New programs that are made to work with vista will be able to ask you for permission automatically. Older programs that do not know about Windows Vista, such as illustrator, will need to explicitly be given this permission, since they do not know how to ask you for it. To do this, right-click illustrator, and click Run As Administrator. -- - JB Windows Vista Support Faq http://www.jimmah.com/vista/ |

The only thing I would add is when I did my the install of other adobe products today I always found the setup.exe file buried in the Adobe CD, right click and choose both run as administrator and run in windowsXP SP2 compatibility mode. I was able to install on RC1, Photoshop Elements 2, CS, and CS2, like this, although applying the updates to CS2 v9.02 and Bridge v1.03 followed b v1.04 was very confusing and appeared to fail however when I checked the version in Help | About, Bridge finally did apparently update to v1.04. I hope this helps |
