Dell Latitude D410 w/ Intel 915GM Graphics Chipset Display Problem
Running Vista RC1 32-bit
System is a dell latitude d410 w. intel 915gm display chipset. Problem is that the screen can only be set at a maximum of 1024x768 under resolution for the PnP monitor and that it can not be increased to the native resolution of 1280x1024 when using the pnp monitor, there is another monitor listed, the default monitor and when selected it will allow me to change the display to the correct resolution in the settings but when i goto apply it changes back to the pnp monitor and the 1024x768 resolution no matter what i do. i have tried making the other monitor the primary and setting the pnp as not attached. please let me know if there is a solution to this, thank you. |

Dell Latitude D410 w/ Intel 915GM Graphics Chipset Display Problem
David:
I'm having the same problem on my Dell Latitude C840 with the Nvidia GeForce 440 Go chipset. My native res is 1600x1200, but it only allows 1450x1024 or something like that... It seems to be related to the other video inputs that the native driver adds to the device, causing Vista to detect a bunch of monitor drivers that cause the limitation. I found a single session workaround - In the Advanced Properties, uncheck the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" and then hit apply, OK, and go back to the res chooser, where your settings should show up. As soon as you shut down and restart, it goes back to the problem, but this helps. If you find any other cure, let me know. Thanks!!!
