You need to have a program on your computer that can see a file with the
..doc extension (Microsoft Word - latest version to be certain that you can see files sent to you that were created with Word 2007). You can also install the free Word Viewer from Microsoft, available he http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891090/ You can also install Open Office which will allow you to view the .doc format files, available he http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.0/index.html -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User (For email, remove the obvious from my address) "Tibor" wrote in message ... TNX Rich! Its sort of workin now. The thing is that I got MS Works with Vista
in my new laptop. Now that I downloaded Word Viewer, the MS Works opens the ..doc files, too, horever it transforms it immediately into .wks format. So I just dont save it after closing I guess. CORRUPT DOC FILE
Hi, You need to install MS word if you want to save the file in doc format. If you still got corrupt file, I think you can try a utility called 'Advanced Word Repair' (http://www.datanumen.com/awr/) to repair your Word document. It works rather well for my corrupt Word documents. -- fyz Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

However, there are many tools available, including data-recovery software, that can recover most (if not all) data lost due to this problem.
1. Download one of the recovery software. Do this on a computer and hard drive without the lost or deleted data. 2. Install the program and complete the prompts in the installation process. 3. Attach the hard drive with the deleted or corrupt data to the computer where the data recovery software was installed. 4. Each of the programs listed has a wizard or step by step instructions to walk users through the recovery process. 5. Software will scan the entire hard drive, looking for deleted data and corrupted files. 6. Select the files to be recovered and direct the recovery program to the folder where the recovered files should be saved. For More info: http://exchangeserver.tumblr.com/pos...air-word-files |
