Borland Delphi
I've posted this before here and I've submitted a bug report for it, but
even with RC1 you CANNOT upgrade an OS with Borland Delphi installed on it to Vista. This has been a problem since Beta 2, and it still happens with RC1. To try to discourage all the inevitable "don't install beta OS's on a production system", thanks, I know, and this post isn't about that. Trying to upgrade an OS (Vista or XP) to Vista, if you have Borland Delphi installed, results in an error telling you that you must remove "Borland Delphi 7.0" (even though this is not the version installed) before an upgrade can be performed. I know one person who was able to uninstall Delphi to get the upgrade working. Myself, I've tried twice, both times it still tells me Borland Delphi 7.0 is installed and an upgrade can't be performed. The only solution is a clean install. After that, Delphi installs just fine and works well. |
