Default IDE drive not recognized.

Curious;992734 Wrote:
So the problem is with one particular IDE HDD then since others work?
What is the capacily, format, and age of the drive?
For some reason it is apparently not spinning up to speed fast enough
or not
at all for the BIOS to recognize it.
Is there any possibility that there is not enough power available for
all
the devices in the system to start up and run concurrently?

Yes that is correct.

Yes, this one drive is the problem. All other drives are seen in BIOS
and OS.

Capacity is 40gb. Format is NTFS. Age is unknown, but is old. Brand
is Maxtor.

Hmm, not enough power, could be possible, but i'm using 350w PSU. I
really don't have much power drain from peripherals. Largest drain
would be my graphics card.
