I am actually trying to send a short music file (not a picture), but I'm
still coming up with this msg. Why does it give us the option of inserting background sounds if it won't work? Why can't I send my song? -- Robin S. |

Make sure that file isn't open in some other program.
Windows Mail can't attach documents or images that are still open elsewhere. -- Gary VanderMolen [MS-MVP WLM] "Robin1013" wrote in message ... Gary-
I appreciate your attemt to help me, but I'm not trying to attach a music file. I'm actually trying to send the e-mail with the music playing in the background, but it doesn't work whether the file is open or not. In fact, I even tried sending the file as an attachment and setting it in the background (thinking maybe the problem was that the program could no longer find the file after the e-mail was sent) but that doesn't even work. Maybe you can still help me now that you know what I'm trying to do. Thank You!!! -- Robin S. "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Make sure that file isn't open in some other program. Sorry, I misread your issue as wanting to send a music file as an
attachment. I don't know how to embed the music file in the email so it will play in the background when opened. Perhaps one of the other responders here is familiar with that technique. -- Gary VanderMolen [MS-MVP WLM] "Robin1013" wrote in message ... this inability to use a file because it is in use by a folder window or some
preview device is ludicrous, it defeats the purpose of drag and drop. microsoft, you suck "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Make sure that file isn't open in some other program. i only want to send a picture in my email. i don't want no trouble, just
tell me how to send a picture. not an attachment, a picture that is viewable by the recipient. there are limited settings in the preferences and when one does insert picture, it still pops up that stupid message. so where's the cancer? I'm sure Microsoft has a good reason for this limitation.
There's no reason why you can't use drag and drop on a closed file. -- Gary VanderMolen [MS-MVP WLM] "f*#k you microsoft" f*#k you wrote in message ... this inability to use a file because it is in use by a folder window or some preview device is ludicrous, it defeats the purpose of drag and drop. microsoft, you suck "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Make sure that file isn't open in some other program. Absolutely normal operation.
This is NOT just a Microsoft or Windows limitation. Most applications cannot open or access a file that is in use by another application. Just another example of the idiotic "fashionable" practice of blame Microsoft, blame Windows, blame Vista... I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS! "Gary VanderMolen" wrote in message ... Hi Robin.
The only way I know is to get in to html and have it embedded in the page like a web page. Myabe design the email in word and export it etc... Dave. I get this message even when I reply and there are no photos, music or
graphics anywhere in the original message or in my reply. Any suggestions what to do? Linda "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Make sure that file isn't open in some other program.
