Default vistaRC1 +XP Pro

Hi all, I have an HP/Compaq Presario SR1000T(Custom Ordered/Build) 1GB ram,
128MB ATI-Radeon 9600SE Video, two 40GB HD's; C;(seagate-STA 340015A)
D;(Maxtor DiamondMax Plus), I have winXP Pro installed on (C); and had ready
the (D); drive for Vista Ultimate RC1 Build 5600... The Install went GREAT!
No errors during set-up. Set up found both my partitions & drives. Heres my
question? I chose the (D); drive for the install of Vista, but after it
finished and rebooted and setup was done, MY drive/letter configuration had
changed. It used to be as follows:
C:\Local Disk (winXP)
D:\DSK2_VOL1 (clean-empty):::
After It shows this:
C:\VistaRC1 (i gave it the vista label after i verified that it was vista
installed on it)
D:\Local Disk (which has XP Pro on it)....
Is this normal behavior for vista to change & rearrange the drives labels,
names and order, even when you nor it asked or suggested it during
format-partitioning etc.. It NO biggy because ALL went well, am just curious
about it as this is only an evaluation copy im going to test it until it
expires. BUt so far GREAT JOB ON THE OS, my copy is very nice and everything
works.
Hoping the software people get there latest software versions up to date for
vista, as a few of my programs did not work or install at all; (logitech
camera) works inside of messenger-live) but the program that comes with it
installes but after a reboot it doesnt bring up the dialog box to finish
setting up the camera, so i ended up without a program to set any options.
I'll just buy a new camera...LOL
any questions.....write a note, i'll check back often.
