Default Unable To Access Options During "Importing Pictures and Videos"

Until recently I have been able to easily download photos from my camera or
card reader.

Lately I have been unable to access “Options” in the Importing Pictures and
Videos. When I connect my camera or card reader, Autoplay gives me the
option to Import Pictures Using Windows which I click on. I then get the
small window, “Importing Pictures and Video” with 2 radio buttons, Options
and Import. My camera or card reader is accessed and the number of pictures
(and the option to tag them) is shown. The Options button does not work.
When I click on Import, the photos are saved to a folder with the day’s date
in My Pictures.

I am unable to access Options and determine exactly where I want the
pictures to be saved to on my PC.

If I access Windows Photo Gallery and go to Files and Options I get two
tabs, General and Import. The Import Tab page is blank!

How can I get access again to “Options’ in Importing Pictures and Videos?

I have the same problem as ThomFam90 below. Only difference is the location
where my pictures are saved on my disk. The "options" button does not
work. I have had this problem for months now, before SP1 and also after SP1.
Any solutions to be had? thanks.

I have been told by "Microsoft" that I have a corrupt User Profile and I
would need to create a new User File for myself to get this option to work.
I am using the free Faststone Image Viewer instead of the Vista feature.
Faststone does the job better than Vista did anyway!

Thank you very much for that information! I have a work-around as well, but
it really bugged me to have this feature not work. regards, Ken
