Got my 1st DRM problem in Media Center! by
A L
I was watching a movie on the TV channel AMC (American Movie Classics) and
after about 10 seconds, the Media Center window turned to green with text
stating that the provider has prevented the use of the video (don't remember
the text exactly.)
I have a Hauppauge WinPVR 350 with a non HDCP nVidia 6600GT and a non HDCP
Monitor hooked up via DVI.
Would I get this message if I hooked up my...

Damaged or Corrupted Image? by
fus89n
I have a set of jpeg images (from a recent trip to the Great Wall) which I
transferred off the same flash card onto my hard drive and view with Windows
Photo Gallery; however, I can view only the vertical images - when I attempt
to open the horizontal images, I receive a message that reads "Photo Gallery
can't open this picture or video. The file format is not supported, or you
may not have...

play my protected WMA files over remote desktop connection. I get a generic
error message saying Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing
the file. I was able to play these protected files when my remote computer
was running windows XP. I am still able to play unprotected mp3's without a
hitch. Is...

Artifacts in MPG2 playback in Media Player 11/Vista HP by
Chris
I recently upgraded to Vista and am now experiencing issues on certain
streaming video types (I think MPG2) - the issue is that there is an
overlaid, chunky dotted pattern in the middle of the video that flashes blue.
THe video is playing normally behind this. I have checked to ensure that I
have the latest update of MP11 installed. I also have Quick time Pro
installed and Sony Vegas 7...

This started about a week ago, every time I boot up my computer, Roxio EMC9
starts up and opens the home page. I'v gone to programs, startup and
disabled and removed "Roxio_central33.exe" several times, but it reattaches
itself to the startup. Annoying....solution? TIA

done all of the checks listed in the troubleshooting guide(verifying that
drivers are current, uninstalling hardware, uninstalling drivers) but
nothing seems to work. Everytime I attempt to set-up live tv using ms media

I've seen this problem reported around the internets loads of times now but
no solution. My problem is that after installing Vista, I can no longer play
mpg video files in WMP11.
For example, the mpg files that come with DreamScene. I can play every one
fine on my XP machine, however under Vista I get "Windows Media Player

Cal Bear '66
I have been searching vendors and the net for a DVD player or a 64-bit MPEG codec (for Windows Media Player) that will enable me to play DVDs on Vista Business 64-bit with no luck whatsoever.
Has anyone had any luck with or knowledge of this problem?

is it worth it? by
UGA
I have heard a lot of things about Vista, I personally have no bought it yet
because it sounds like Microsoft has the ability to look on your computer and
see what you are doing at all times. I was going to buy it this coming
summer, but after reading some of these posts I am rethinking it. I have XP
right now, and everything that I would like to do on it works fine, I hear
that iTunes...

Missing Codec by
upsprucecreek
I have tried many times to place a song I purchased from itunes onto a slide
show of photos I am making in Windows photo gallery, but I keep getting an
error signal about a missing codec. I have read all the threads that warn
about downloading codecs indiscriminately. Can anyone tell me what I have to
do?

Compatibilty of Nero 6 by
Kafka
I have just bought a new Lenovo with Vista business. My original DVD burner
came with Nero 6 OEM, which I attempted to install on my new PC. Does Vista
support this rather old software? I have been unable to work out how to get
this information from Nero.
