I have a 2003 server domain, I installed Vista RC1 on one of our machines.
And when I log on (domain admin), I look though the event logs and see this
error on all mappings "This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of
this object", No drives get mapped.

One of the domain policys are to put "My Documents" on a home share (to keep
it off the PC, and on the server where it's backed up), I need this
working...for all my domain users. Geting this error, and a few of them..

Failed to apply policy and redirect folder "Videos" to
"\\domain\users$\username\My Videos".
Redirection options=9211.
The following error occurred: "Can not create folder
"\\\domain\users$\username\My Videos"".
Error details: "This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of this
object.
".

I do have a logon script running from the server, tons of XP boxes, never a
problem with the drives mapping.

Any clue ?

Can you email me the logon scripts that are failing? Have you tryed
disabling UAC on the clients? Ofcourse you shouldnt have to disable UAC on
every client.

Can you give me a little insite on UAC on Vista ? As I've never had to do
anything with 2000 or XP boxes, install OS, Update, add to domain, log in
and it all worked.

It's just a small script that maps users to \\server\users$\username and
redirects my documents to that share (the documents is via policy).

I kind of did some quick reading on vista but, have not gone though the
scheme of things, as it's new from ground up, as I understand. Is there a
policy on the server I need to create to make this go smooth on Vista?

I can send you the script but, need to get access to the sever, can't do
tonight. Just need some direction for the morning if you can help...

I've never seen the "This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of

And....DNS is fine, server pings, NTP gets the time from the server, no
issues adding to the domain...

Just in case that was one of the issues...

Can you try this after you have logged on as the specific user ?
From a command prompt - net use * "\\domain\users$\username\My Videos"

If this works, then the error you are seeing could be LUA related. As
someone mentioned, try disabling LUA on one of the vista clients and see if
the domain logon scripts works.
