ACER Utilities with Vista
lol its ok, however, i think i have the SOLUTION!
After extensive searching on the net I have stumbled accross on MSDN technet forums some people with the same problem. And we all have the same problem, in device manager there is NO battery driver installed and also theres an "unknown device" which is MS ACPI and when tryed to install, Vista doesnt have the required driver, even in RC1! Therefore I conclude after alllll this, it is a driver problem lol, thanks to colin and beck and others for your support! Nutty "Beck" beck@none wrote in message ... On my XP installation I un-installed the ACER power management and the windows power management took over (good good). Well I be damned. I am sorry I got it wrong. |

We both have Acer laptops, mine works yours doesn't. If it were a lack of drivers, then surely I woud have the same problem? What model of Acer do you have? |

ACER Utilities with Vista
I have a travelmate 4000 series WLMi, also the other people I found with the
same problem one had the same series as me, and another a toshiba laptop. I did try and installing a MS smart battery subsystem driver and the power schemes all changed to battery ones etc... which worked, but vista still couldnt recognise the battery, so it was the wrong driver. Also note that it is a driver prob because there is no battery in the device manager lol. thanks again, "Beck" beck@none wrote in message ...
