Default AuthenTec Inc AES1610 update not working

Randomness... I just booted up my laptop and the error went away. I
downloaded a new version of Open Office. Maybe there was a driver in there
that fixed the error. I'm going to reboot right now and see what happens.
Fingers crossed.

I had the same issue. I resolved it by deleteing all files in the
Users[user name]appdatalocaltemp
folder and then reinstalling the original version of Authen tec Access
manager (version 1.1.13 in my case). I have a Toshiba P300 and the
original version is located in
C:\TOSAPINS\Authenec-Fingerprint-Utility and run the setup.exe file.

Hope this helps

Anyone hitting this issue, please email me your "WindowsUpdate.log" file
(found in your Windows Directory).

Email: "tidavis at Microsoft dot com".

We will track down the specific update and get it removed from WU.

I downloaded updates the other day and since then every time i log on i get
a
window saying it needs to complete installation or something like that i
have
gone through every possible choice to say yes or no but it still always
comes
up. The finger scanner is playing up with it as well. I tried to do the
rollback that i read somewhere should help but i am unable to choose the
rollback button.

The update appears under update history but not installed updates .... so
i
can't uninstall it.

i have a Toshiba satellite running vista... please help me

I've found that switching User Access Control off allows to complete
driver installation successfully. You can safely turn on UAC after
restart.

I apologize for the late reply - with the snow and holidays here is Redmond,
I have not been able to get into the office and work with the folks on this.

Toshiba requested this driver go critical on WU - and they own supporting
any problems it creates.

Here are the call in numbers for support:

800-457-7777 (From inside the United States)
949-859-4273 (From outside the United States)
