Windows Vista upgrade to Windows 7 - language issue
Hi all,
I have a laptop bought in 2007 with Vista Home Premium version OEM in Italian. Now I live in Berlin and I saw in a shopfron a big chain theWindow 7 Home Premium Upgrade for only 89 €, instead of 129 €. But my worry is the following: with this upgrade, I will be able to chose the language, in order to have the OS in Italian, or it will be only in German? -- Thanks a lot in advance for your help. Ciao Franz Verga from Italy (now in Berlin) |

Windows Vista upgrade to Windows 7 - language issue
You cannot change languages during an upgrade - whatever language you have
now must be the language you upgrade to. If the package does not say it supports the language you want, then do not buy it as it will probably not work. "Franz Verga" wrote in message ... So, do you mean, if I should buy the upgrade in Germany, then I should use it to make a clean installation, instead of upgrading, and then it should work also to have it in Italian, instead that in German. Are you sure? -- Thanks in advance for your help. Ciao Franz Verga from Italy (now in Berlin) |

I was impressed with myself that I managed to do the clean install of W-7, and do it twice, and end up with a working machine. Don't go buy it off what I just said. I was just curious about the answer one of the people who know what they are doing gave since when I did the install of the W-7 I did have to choose English. I have no idea what would have happened if I had chosen another language off the list. -- Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. That includes En, Ger, Fr, Esp, Jpn - but not Italian. Ask wherever you get it. Check with Alternat - they have all those: 'ALTERNATE. Hardware - Software - Entertainment' (http://www.alternate.de/html/solr/search/result.html) Type *Windows7* into the search box. I would get an OEM version - less fuzz. -- whs |
