Old files
Sorry, but most applications in the Program Files folder under Windows.old
will have to be re-installed, using the program's installer. The missing elements are the registry settings made when the program is installed, as well as other files needed by the program that it might place under the Users Folder, or even under the "All Users" ProgramData folder. Their are too many ducks to get in a row for most complex programs, such as World of Warcraft, and dragging and dropping its files won't be successful. The best you can do is try. Some will work, most of them won't. "Failed to install patch" is probably an error where the program was installed using Windows Installer, and it's looking for a Windows Installer element it needs to run when the program is initialized. The element won't be there, because that, too, is a registration issue, as well as an issue regarding special Windows Installer files, again, not to be found in the program's Program Files folder...
