Depends on what type of file it is. Most are already highly compressed.
Email attachments usually limit you to around 6.5MB video file (before MIME
encoding which will take that up to just under 10MB) in my experience. You
could use video editing software like Windows Movie Maker (which is built in
to Vista) to trim and tidy it up and then resample it at a lower resolution
if required

Before we go into options though let us know what file type it is. If you
don't know this what make/model of camera is it?

Default Compress movie file??

Hi again - AVI files are quite raw and uncompressed and you can use them in
Windows Movie Maker and many other 3rd party programs.

To try it out - Start, All Programs, Windows Movie Maker and then import the
AVI video file. Next drag it to the video "timeline" in the bottompart of
the screen. Then choose to Publish to This Computer or E-mail.

Use the Help in Movie Maker to learn more about what you can do...

www.papajohn.org is a useful website too.

I tryed to Publish to This Computer, chose file name and folder, then on the
panel- Choose the settings for your movie, should I choose Best quality for
playback on my computer or Compress to: ? No matter what option I choose ( I
tryed boath), when I try to play that movie, I've got same massage in Windows
Media player: Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the
file. For additional assistance, click Web Help. I tryed to follow Web Help,
it says: You've encountered error message C00D11B1 while using Windows Media
Player, but didn't work. Please help,
Ivana

Think yourself lucky you got a "massage" ;-)

You are almost there!!!

http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourc...B1+movie+maker

Can you check your Event Viewer? Start/Orb, type event

There may be more info there.

Let's summarize - you can now compress an AVI to WMV but it won't play in
WMP?

What size is the WMV?
