Default media player problems

i have vista home premium. after downlaoding some music from file sharing
svc., my entire library got wiped out. it was all still in music files, but
not in library. when they all came back, every song was back twice. now i
cant save playlists, erase the doubles, or find alblum info online, among
other things. i just found this site and all but gave up on the problem.
also, wmp11 wont play mp4,avi, or other formats i discovered it should.
please help. thanx.

If you reset the library-
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary
- that should fix up the library issues.

MP4 should have always required a third party plug-in. AVI should mostly
just work, depending upon the codecs required.
