Default unlocking computer

Does anyone know how to override a blocked computer. I locked my computer
with a password a year ago and do not remember what the pass word. Am told
that I have to wipe out the hard and start over and would rather not lose all
that is on my computer.

There are several ways of unlocking your PC, you'll find them under 'Lost
password' on the internet. Often they involve using a boot DVD from which you
can acess your drives. Personally I use ERD Commander or Knoppix.
