Default DVD Maker doesn't work--shuts down--is broken

I have been trying to get help with the following with no responses so I will
try again. I add a project to DVD Maker. I click next. I get a message
that Windows DVD Maker has stopped working and it shuts down. The problem is
reported but no solution is available. The problem report is as follows:

I have also seen messages that discuss what codecs you have installed with
Windows Media Player. If relevant, that info is as follows:

The projects I am trying to burn is camcorder video (avi) that has been

See my website's Problem Solving Crashes and Hangs page....

My list of problem codecs includes lmpgad.ax, but not the lmpgspl.as codec
referred to in your report.... but maybe my list needs to include it add it
after you check.

It's the Ligos MPEG Splitter. Either update it or remove it and you're
working again. =)

This is a crash in the Ligos MPEG Splitter. Why is this installed? You
would either want to update it to a later version that is stable or remove /
uninstall it from the system.
