Backing up on a CD-RW Compact Disk Rewritable
AJ Business Services wrote:
WHen I try to back up the disk asks to be formatted. This fails. So I can't then proceed to back up. What can I do? Thanks! Don't use CD-RWs to back up, use a CD-R instead. Using CD-RWs for any sort of backup isn't a good idea in any case because you want complete transferability from a backup. If you use a CD-RW, the computer on which you want to read the disk must either have the same program used to format the CD-RW installed or a UDF reader. CD-RWs come from the time when CD burners and media were very expensive. Now with CD-Rs under a penny apiece, there is no reason to use the CD-RWs. It's going to be a confusing, expensive, cumbersome, lengthy, frusterating boondogle. Buy a USB drive, they are quite inexpensive these days |
