Vista recognizes mp3 player, but not as a portable device... by
Jim
I have a Vista laptop, a Creative Touch mp3 player and an RCA Pearl mp3
player. When I connect the Creative player to the laptop, it recognizes the
player as a portable device, installs the drivers and Windows Media Player,
Yahoo Music and other apps that sync with music devices see the device and
will synchronize with the player.
However, when I connect the RCA player, Vista sees the...

Update driver software by
John
I have been trying to install a logitech v320 mouse. When I go to Update
software, almost all of the software is listed as not being compatible with
Vista. Why do they have this software listed if it will not work with Vista?

Windows dosn't recognise connection D-Link ADSL router by
Jason T
I am using a D-Link DSL-G604T wireless ADSL router with a Vista Home premium
system on an AMD Athlon 2800+ with 1GB of Memory. Just recently my computer
lost contact with the router (ie. it returns the error message "limited

the internet.) Vista's "Windows Network Diagnostics" attempts to fix it by
one of 2 ways...

Volume ID by
Rahvasaadik
I got one hard disk, which is split into two drives. One is about 40GB large
and has Vista installed on it, the rest is unformatted for future usage. Now,
I want to install a second OS on the unformatted half and need to give it a
specific volume id. I know how to change volume id, but will it change volume
id also for the half vista is installed on?

Microsoft Remote Keyboard (Infrared) on Vista by
Andy_uk
Hello,
I recently purchased a new Media Centre PC along with the Microsoft Remote
keyboard. Having set up the PC however I cannot get it to recognise the
keyboard.
The PC came with a remote control which does work so I know the Infrared
receiver is functioning, and as far as I can see the Keyboard is also
functioning (small red LED flashes whenever I press buttons on it). So I
don't know...

Epson V500 Scanner by
Ike[_2_]
Recently installed an Epson V500 scanner on my system running Vista. It
worked okay for two days. I left the computer and the scanner on over night.
The next morning the preview function would not work. Epson support had me
check device manager, uninstall the software, download new driver, etc.
Nothing worked so they said it is the fault of the OS. Any ideas?

External Monitor Disables Screen Saver and Power Plan by
bigvee_nh[_2_]
I have replaced an HP Pavilion notebook running XP Pro with a new HP Pavilion
notebook running Vista Ultimate. I had been using an external Acer LCD
monitor with the old notebook. With the new notebook and Vista, the external
monitor seems to disable both the screen saver and the power plan settings.
The display simply stays on indefinitely. On a couple of rare occasions I was
able to get it...

More on the Vista Service Pack 1 drivers roadblock by
star
It appears the roadblock preventing Windows Vista Service Pack 1 from being
made publically available when it was released to manufacturing two days ago
is a deja vu of the same but less severe problem that also happened in 2004
with Windows XP Service Pack 2.
The problem then affected a very particular ATI graphics driver and Dell
Bluetooth driver which resulted in loss functionality after...
